GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • We offer swim lessons for all ages and skill levels, including private 1:1 lessons, semi-private 2:1 lessons, small group lessons, and Parent & Tot classes for children ages 8 months to 4 years. Additional services include Adult lessons, water safety clinics, Boy Scout or Military swim test preparation, and swim instructor training.

  • During the summer, we offer lessons at multiple partner pools and offer a mobile service where we travel to clients’ pools. From fall through spring, we teach at Wilderness Presidential Resort and select indoor pools in our area.

  • We teach swimmers of all ages, from 8 months to adults, including beginners, advanced swimmers, and those with special needs or water fears.

  • Yes! We provide adult swim lessons for beginners, those improving technique, or anyone building water confidence. It’s never too late to learn! Group or Private 1:1 adult lessons are available.

  • Our approach is gentle, supportive, and tailored to each swimmer’s skill level and goals. For children, we use a child-led, game-focused method to make learning fun and engaging while building confidence and essential skills.

    For adults, we offer a step-by-step progression that meets you where you are, whether you’re overcoming fears, refining techniques, or advancing your skills.

    Every lesson is personalized to ensure growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of the water—no matter your experience level.

  • Yes! We offer one-on-one lessons tailored to individual needs for faster progress and personalized attention. You can schedule a 20-min, 30-min, or 60-minute private lesson!

REGISTRATION, PRICING & POLICIES

  • Pricing depends on the type of lesson—private, semi-private, or group—and the package you select. Our prices range from $25/ lesson to $185/ hour.   • You can register by visiting our Swim Lesson Portal, where you can explore programs and be directed to our scheduling platform to book your class.   • We offer swim lessons year-round to fit your schedule!

    During the summer, our mobile swim school comes to your pool or a local one near you. No pool access? No problem! Lessons are also available at our partner locations.

    From fall through spring, join us for indoor lessons at partner locations like Wilderness Presidential Resort and select indoor pools.

  • Yes! We offer semi-private and small group options for families or friends who want to learn together.

  • We understand that life happens!

    For private lessons, simply notify your instructor before the session to receive a make-up credit.

    Group lessons, such as Parent & Tot classes and swim camps, have limited make-up options based on availability, but we’ll do our best to find a spot if there’s room in another session.

    If a lesson is canceled due to weather or by the instructor or facility, you’ll always receive a make-up credit or the chance to reschedule.

    For last-minute cancellations due to illness, we’re happy to work with you to find a solution. If you have any questions or need help rescheduling, just reach out—we’re here to help!

    Lastly, if there is a no-show situation without messaging LASC, the lesson fee is forfeited.

SAFETY & SPECIAL NEEDS

  • Yes! All instructors are certified by the American Red Cross in swim instruction, water safety, CPR, and First Aid, and lifeguarding. Ongoing training and professional development is required by all team members.

  • Absolutely. We specialize in helping nervous swimmers feel comfortable and confident by building trust and teaching at their own pace.

  • Yes! We personalize lessons to meet the needs of swimmers with a range of abilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

PHILOSOPHY & EQUIPMENT

  • No, we do not teach ISR or other forced survival-based methods. At Lake Anna Swim Company, we focus on gentle, non-traumatic lessons that help children become calm, confident, and competent swimmers. Every class includes proven water safety practices and supports each swimmer’s growth through play, trust, and positive reinforcement.

    We also believe in educating and involving caregivers—because water safety starts with confident adults, too!

  • All you need is swimwear, a towel, and goggles if your swimmer prefers them!

    For Parent & Tot classes, swim diapers are a must for non-potty-trained children to help keep the pool clean and safe for everyone.

    For Adults - proper fitting googles and fins help the learning process but are not required. See this document for more information: ADULT LESSONS

  • No, we don’t recommend using puddle jumpers or floaties, as they can create bad habits and hinder proper technique. Instead, we focus on helping swimmers build confidence and skills naturally, without relying on flotation devices.

MOBILE SWIM LESSONS

  • Our Mobile private lessons are available at your location and can include 1:1 instruction, 2:1 lessons, or small group sessions tailored to your needs. COST: $185/hour

    • One 1-hour private lesson.

    • Two 30-minute lessons (e.g., for 1-2 participants).

    • A mix of private or semi-private lessons for up to 4 swimmers.

    *There is a limited number of mobile clients per week!

    • $185/hour with Jenn.

    • $150/hour with other instructors.

    • Add $60 for an extra 30 minutes.

  • The minimum booking is 1 hour at your location.

MOBILE SWIM LESSONS continued

  • You can schedule your private mobile swim lessons by contacting us directly:

    NOTE: Summer 2025 Mobile Lessons are available on Tuesdays before noon, Saturdays and Sundays after 1pm.

  • Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund or to reschedule your lesson.

  • Canceled lessons due to weather or instructor availability will be rescheduled or refunded.

PARENT & TOT SWIM LESSONS

  • Not at all! Our Parent & Tot classes are designed for all skill levels. As long as you’re comfortable in the water, you’ll be able to guide and enjoy the experience with your little one.

  • If your little one isn’t potty-trained yet, be sure to pack a swim diaper to help keep the pool clean and safe for everyone. We also recommend bringing a towel, sunblock (for outdoor pools), and anything else to keep your child comfortable, like a favorite toy or a snack for after the lesson.

  • Absolutely! Whether they’re the main attendee or joining to support and share in the fun, we welcome all caregivers to be part of this special experience.

KIDS & TEENS SWIM LESSONS

  • We teach all levels, from beginners learning basic water safety and building comfort with confidence in the water to advanced swimmers refining their strokes.

  • Swimwear, a towel, goggles (if needed), and a positive attitude!

  • Yes! We offer one-on-one swim lessons for personalized attention and faster progress.

ADULT SWIM LESSONS

  • No prior experience is required! Our adult swim lessons are designed for all skill levels, whether you're a complete beginner, returning to the water after a break, or looking to refine your technique and build confidence. Each lesson is tailored to meet you where you are and help you progress at your own pace.

YEAR ROUND SWIM CAMPS

  • We offer camps designed for various skill levels, from beginners to more advanced swimmers. It’s important to select the level that matches your child’s current swimming ability to ensure they feel confident and can make the most of their experience. If you’re unsure which camp is the best fit, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to guide you!

  • Please bring swimwear, a towel, goggles, and a water bottle. Snacks and sunscreen (for outdoor pools) are also recommended.

  • We do offer programs for new swimmers, but it's important to ensure that the level of instruction will be the right fit for your child. While our camps are designed for a range of skill levels, we want every swimmer to receive the appropriate instruction and support. If you're unsure whether a camp is the best fit for your child, please contact us before booking, and we’ll be happy to help guide you to the right program.

  • Children should be enrolled in a swim camp that matches their current swimming level to ensure they get the right instruction and support. With small group sizes, our instructors provide personalized attention, helping each child feel supported and progress at their own pace.
